Giclée print of Aversion, a graphic art piece by Adam Walt.

One of two pieces inspired by the 1977 book Grist for the Mill by Ram Dass. These pieces are imaginings of the metaphorical "mill of awakening" referenced by Ram Dass in the book and elsewhere.

"Desire and aversion are attachments, and attachments slow me down. So I see my desires and aversions as clues I can follow to find the ways I'm stuck. To learn where I'm still holding on, where I might be ready to let go. Sometimes I'll notice I've had enough of something. I'm all done. Other times I can't even imagine letting go of a particular desire, or relaxing a particular aversion. So I'll spend time trying to imagine it. The entire saga of every desire or aversion becomes grist for the mill of awakening, as Ram Dass puts it. You can use it all to get free."
— Adam Walt
